Engineering/Inspection Division

The Engineering/Inspection Division employees 5 personnel that include the City Engineer, a Civil Engineer 1, two Construction Inspectors, and a Field Engineering Technician.

This Division is responsible for the following activities:

  • Assists the development community to meet the requirements of the City's Development Ordinance for commercial & residential developments.
  • Reviews all public and private construction plans as they relate to commercial site developments and residential developments.
  • Review, manage and provides construction observation service for both SMAC and non-SMAC storm drainage improvement projects.
  • Review and provide construction observation service for public improvement projects sponsored by the City. These include street, storm drainage, street lighting, and traffic signal installation.
  • Issue permits and provide inspection for all work performed in the City's Right-of-Way & Public Drainage Easements.
  • Administer the City's Right-of-Way Ordinance for Use & Excavation of the Public Right-of-Way.
  • Administer the City's Stormwater Management & Erosion & Sediment Control Standards Ordinance.
  • Assist residents with storm drainage issues on both public and private property.
  • Handle inquiries from residents concerning streetlight and traffic signal outages.
