Hail Storm & Roof Damage

Attention Homeowners:

Due to the recent hailstorm, several  Leawood roofs received serious hail damage. If you received hail damage, please be aware that the City of Leawood requires a permit to replace or repair the roof and roofing contractors must be licensed  with The City of Leawood and Johnson County Contractor Licensing.

It has come to our attention unlicensed contractors from other areas are soliciting roof work in the area.

Please make sure your contractor has an proper building permit before work starts.  The permit, a bright yellow card to be placed in the front window or storm door of your home, confirms that you are using a contractor licensed to do work in the City of Leawood and a permit for the work has been issued.

All work requires City Inspectors to verify the work meets Building Codes and is being performed by the person listed on the permit.

To verify an active building permit click on the following link https://eden.leawood.org/Default.asp?Build=PM.pmPermit.SearchForm&utask=normalview

To verify your contractor has the required Johnson County Contractor License click on the following link http://cls.jocogov.org/clsCourseReg/searchcontractor.aspx
