Guest Juror- Valerie Phillips - Owner of Gallery V Fine Arts
Valerie Phillips has over twenty-five years of experience in the art and design industry. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's School of Art and Design. She worked for Fleishman-Hillard Inc. where she handled various graphic design accounts, including their top client, Anheuser-Busch and its subsidiaries. She also designed for Ackerman, Hood and McQueen and worked as a freelance makeup artist for three leading cosmetic companies. Most recently, Valerie has managed three independent art galleries in the Kansas City area over a span of fifteen years.

She opened Gallery V Fine Arts in 2014 at Mission Farms West in Overland Park, Kansas. She now represents approximately 50 artists from local to international talent. Not only has she built a place of inspiration for others, Valerie has passed along the art genes to her son, Matt, a current painting major at the Kansas City Art Institute. Together, they creatively collaborate to educate, entertain and create a memorable experience for guests of Gallery V Fine Arts.
Valerie Phillips has juried the Hidden Glen Art Fair at Cedar Creek in Olathe, Kansas, as well as the Art Comes Alive arts competition in Cincinnati, Ohio.
