Our Mission

To lead, educate, and collaborate with the Leawood
community to encourage conservation, increase recycling,
and promote 'green' mobility in the City of Leawood.

Most lighters are made out of plastic and filled with butane fuel, both petroleum products. Since most lighters are considered “disposable,” over 1.5 billion end up in landfills each year. When choosing matches, pick cardboard over wood. Wood matches come from trees, whereas most cardboard matches are made from recycled paper.

Important Date Mark You Calendar

Each February, the Leawood Sustainability Advisory Board invites board members from Leawood HOAs to attend a dinner at the Lodge at Ironwoods. The Annual HOA meeting is one of the primary ways the City of Leawood communicates with residents about major initiatives that make our city and its residents better stewards of the environment and how doing so improves the quality of life in our city, provides support to home values and helps to save the community money. The event includes vendor booths, dinner and drinks, as well as presentations related to sustainability in Leawood. Keep your HOA Board's contact information up to date by contacting (913) 339-6700 ext. 100, and we'll contact your HOA about our next meeting.
