After retiring from the Clayton, Missouri Fire Department, Captain Frank Herrick joined the Leawood Fire Department in February 2008.  Captain Herrick served 22 years as a Firefighter-Paramedic in Clayton, before being promoted to the rank of Captain.  Captain Herrick holds an Associate of Science degree from Forest Park Community College in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from the Paramedic program at St. Louis University.  Captain Herrick has also attended several classes at the National Fire Academy, as well as Oklahoma State University.

Captain Herrick has served his country in the armed forces, his latest deployment coming during Desert Storm with the 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment.  While on tour in Saudi Arabia, Frank received a Bronze Star for meritorious service, as well as several other citations.

Captain Herrick and his wife, Celeste, moved to the Kansas City area in January 2008.  Frank's hobbies include target shooting, hunting, genealogy, and the restoration of old cars.
