Emergency Managers pushing weather awareness to save lives and increase family preparedness
With our history of severe weather and the unpredictability of other emergencies, the all-hazard/weather radio will provide an important component to your preparedness. In addition to current weather reports, all- hazard radios broadcast severe weather watches and warnings, notices of hazardous chemical spills, and other emergencies. The system has been approved for the potential future use with Homeland Security information and AMBER alerts, to inform the public of emergencies regarding local situations and child abductions, respectively. Project Community Alert is a community-wide effort between the Metropolitan Emergency Management Committee and Price Chopper Groceries to place 100,000 all-hazard radios in homes, businesses, and other locations in the eight-county Kansas City Metropolitan area. Price Chopper is deeply discounting the cost of the radios to help residents equip themselves. For more information please feel free to contact us.Â
