Since it's beginning in 1948, the City of Leawood has been fortunate to have had a number of residents that were willing and able to volunteer their services to the Leawood Fire Department. Through the years, their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence has been instrumental in building the organization we have today. However, like most cities, increases in population and the subsequent call load has created the need for a full time paid staff. Today we have just two active volunteers in the fire department and their retirement will bring an end to our volunteer program.
The men and women that have served with the Leawood Fire Department over the years are listed below. We will forever be grateful for the dedication and service they gave to the citizens of Leawood. We are proud and honored to follow in their footsteps and will always strive to carry on the spirit they brought to the Leawood Fire Department.
