The City of Leawood offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and long term care insurance. Employees can elect the programs that best meet their needs. In addition, the City provides life and long-term disability for employees and an Employee Assistance Program for employees and their families.
The City of Leawood encourages employees to take advantage of educational and vocational opportunities. All full-time regular employees who have successfully completed the Introductory Period are eligible to apply for educational reimbursement assistance (program eligibility requirements and limits apply).
The City participates in the KPERS & KP&F State administered retirement programs. Both the City and employees contribute to these plans. In addition to these programs, the City offers a voluntary deferred compensation program. This plan allows employees to defer a portion of their compensation on a pre-tax basis. The City matches a percentage of the amount contributed to the plan for KPERS-eligible employees.
The City offers a very generous paid leave program to include: vacation leave and sick leave (accruals are based on position classification and length of service); scheduled and personal holidays (combined total of 11 per year); military leave; bereavement leave; and civic leave.
The City offers a 125/Flexible Spending Plan that allows employees to make pre-tax contributions with which to pay qualified medical and dependent care expenses.
