It is the City's policy not to hire relatives of persons already employed by the City of Leawood which includes parents, grandparents, grandchildren, spouses, siblings, children, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and step relations or in-laws of these relatives. Seasonal positions may be filled by an individual who is related to a City employee as long as the City employee is not the City Administrator, a member of the governing body or a department head. The seasonal employee may not be placed in a position that will supervise or be supervised by a family member.
The City of Leawood does not have a City residency requirement.
Application Process
Applicants must submit a completed City application by the closing date. The preferred method of application is on-line and you are highly encouraged to use this method. Please be as descriptive as possible in completing the on-line application so we can assess your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to the position.

Review the list of currently available jobs and determine the position(s) in which you are interested. Click on the title of the position to review a description of the job duties and qualifications. To submit an application, select the link after the words "Apply Online" at the bottom of the position description. Complete the information requested then click "Submit." If your application was successfully sent, you will receive the following message.
"Thank you for submitting your application. We are in receipt of your recent application. Thank you for your interest in employment opportunities with the City of Leawood."
Note: A completed City application is required to apply for any position with the City of Leawood. Resumes, cover letters and related materials are appreciated but cannot be used in place of a City application. The City reserves the right to disqualify late applications from review.
