City of Leawood and the Leawood Foundation to Dedicate Fire Pit at Gezer Park - Mon. Sept. 12 6:00pm The City of Leawood and the Leawood Foundation will join members of Scout Troop #61 at an upcoming event to dedicate the new fire pit in Gezer Park. The park, located at 133rd and Mission Road, honors the City’s relationship with the Gezer Region, Israel.
Scouts and their families will celebrate with a picnic beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, followed by presentation of the colors at 6:30 p.m. The dedication of the fire pit will follow the flag ceremony. Leawood Mayor Peggy Dunn, members of the Leawood City Council and Leawood Foundation Board members will also attend.
The fire pit was made possible in part through generous donations from Mr. and Mrs. Al Beitchman, Mr. Harvey Bodker, and Mr. Alan S. Edelman and Dr. Debbie Sosland-Edelman. It will be used by scout groups for ceremonies, as well as other celebratory events through reservation.
