Tomahawk Trail Closure - April 26-June 30
Expires [Saturday, June 30, 2012] CONTACT:Brian Anderson Superintendent of Parks (913) 339-6700 ext. 190 Chris Claxton Director of Parks and Recreation (913) 339-6700 ext. 151 EVENT:Tomahawk Creek Trail Closure DATE:Thursday, April 26 –June 30, 2012 TIME: Daily LOCATION:Tomahawk Creek Trail (Between trail merge south of College Boulevard to parking lot south of shelter) ENTRY FEE:NA Leawood Parks and Recreation to Close Portion of Trail for Relocation/Repairs The Leawood Parks and Recreation Department will be closing a portion of the Tomahawk Creek Trail beginning Thursday, April 26th. The closure will allow for the realignment of the trail to the west in order to avoid future damage by Tomahawk Creek. The area of closure will be from just over the bridge from College Boulevard (where Indian Creek and Tomahawk Creek Trails merge) to just south of the north lake parking lot. As part of this project, the City will also be undertaking improvements to the north lake, which will prohibit access to the majority of the lake for fishing. The trail closure is expected to last until June 30. Renovations to the lake are expected to last several months, depending on weather conditions.
