*Session 3 will not have class 7/19 or 7/21. Class will be held on 7/15 & 7/22

Inclement Weather Information: Lessons will be cancelled due to inclement weather and/or lightning. Cancellation decisions will be made prior to the start of each class. (Example: Do not assume classes will be cancelled at 10:50am because they were cancelled at 9:00am.)
• Dry Lesson / Safety Day will be held on the first inclement weather day
• If there should be two inclement weather days, the second will be made up on the Friday of the week the weather occurred.
• More than 2 days of inclement weather, lessons will not be made up.

Starfish Swimming
StarBabies™ (Parent/Caregiver with child ages 6 months - 18 months)
The purpose of this course is to develop in very young children a high comfort level in the water while at the same time training parents in water safety and drowning prevention. This course does not teach children to become accomplished
swimmers or survive in the water; it does provide a confidence building, fun, loving experience. One parent or caregiver must be in the water with each child. Swim diapers required. Eight - 30 minute lessons.
StarTots™ (Parent/Caregiver with child ages 18 - 36 months)
The purpose of this course is to develop in very young children a high comfort level in the water while at the same time training parents in water safety and drowning prevention. How to Enroll in the correct Class:
1. Identify the class corresponding to your child's age at the start of class.
2. Identify the Core Skill Achievement Stage and choose the color (white, red, blue or green) that best fits your child's skill level.
3. Identify the session (1, 2, 3 or 4).
4. Identify the class time (varies).*Important* All children must sign up for the class corresponding to their age (regardless of skill level). They will then be broken into groups according to the color (skill) level you select.

Starfish Swim School® Jellyfish (Ages 3-5 years)
Designed to meet the needs of preschoolers, this course will develop a high comfort level in the water, a readiness to swim, and for those children who are developmentally ready, teach beginning swim skills. This class approaches teaching swimming through creative, fun activities in the water. Students work toward development of the five core swimming competencies and receive color level awards for each achievement. Children progress at their own pace in a small group setting. Eight - 45 minute lessons.
Starfish Swim School® Seaturtle (Ages 6-8 years)
Students work toward the development of the five core swimming competencies and receive color level awards for each achievement. The color levels are used to divide students into broad ability groups. Children progress at individual rates with the opportunity to learn the core swimming skills and progress to advanced strokes. Learning is self-paced but challenging. Eight - 45 minute lessons.
Starfish Swim School® Stingray (Ages 9-15 years)
Students work toward the development of the five core swimming competencies and receive color awards
for each achievement. The color levels are used to divide students into broad ability groups. Children progress at individual rates with the opportunity to learn the core swimming skills and progress to advanced strokes. Learning is self-paced but challenging. Eight - 45 minute lessons.
Starfish Stroke School™ (Any age that meets skill prerequisite)
Students refine freestyle and learn stroke techniques for backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and more! Eight-45 minute lessons.
Dive Lessons

Come learn the basics of diving at the Leawood Aquatic Center!
Instructors will work with beginning and advanced students who want to learn new things and perfect their skills. Four - 60 minute classes.
