Hershey Track & Field
The Leawood Parks & Recreation Department will be participating in the Hershey Track and Field Games this summer.
All girls and boys ages 6 to 14 years of age may participate. This is a free, one day track meet designed to introduce children to physical fitness through basic events like running, jumping and throwing.
A copy of your child's birth certificate is required if the child participates in an event for ages 9-14 (ages 6-8 do not need a copy of their birth certificate).
Participants can enter a maximum of one track and two field events,
or one field and two track events.
Field events include: standing long jump and the softball throw.
Track events include: 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1000 and 4x100 meter relay.
Top six qualifiers (ages 9-14) in each event can advance to the state meet (top three state qualifiers advance to a regional and ultimately, a national meet held in Hershey, Pennsylvania)
