Gezer Park: Park Events Celebrate our Heritage


Gezer DedicationPark Dedication October 2009

A delegation from Leawood's Sister City - the Gezer Region of Israel - helped dedicate the new Gezer Park October 20, 2009. Among the prominent guests were Gezer Region Mayor Peter Weis, artists Ilan Averbuch (Stones & Steps) and Gadi Fraiman (Planting Calendar). Following the singing of the U.S. and Israeli national anthems, Leawood Mayor Peggy Dunn and other guests joined our visitors in a traditional Hebrew dance.


Rabbi GoldSpecial Rabbi Visit May 2010

Rabbi Miri Gold, of Kibbutz Gezer in Israel, visited Gezer Park May 8, 2010. Rabbi Gold was in the process of breaking new ground in Israel for females and for the Reform or Conservative movement. She was in town to speak to Congregation B'nai Jehudah.
