Leawood Stage Company to Host a Performance of “A Delicate Balance” Presented by Actor’s Choice

Leawood Stage Company is pleased to host a performance by Actor’s Choice, a division of the Senior Barn Players. They will present a condensed version of A Delicate Balance, the Pulitzer prize-winning drama by Edward Albee on Saturday, March 21th at 2:00 pm and Sunday, March 22nd at 2:00 pm. The event will be held in the Oak Room of the Community Center on the lower level of Leawood City Hall, 4800 Town Center Drive. Entrance is located at the north doors.

A Delicate Balance examines the uneasy existence of upper-middle-class suburbanites in the 1960s. This play is Albee at his best-funny, surprising and remarkably meaningful. American playwright, Edward Albee is well known for works such as The Sandbox and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? His works are considered well-crafted examinations of the modern condition that helped reinvent theater in the early 60s.

Actor’s Choice, supported by the Senior Barn Players, presents challenging material to Kansas City audiences. This show, directed by Gerald Snider, will feature six seasoned actors: Constance Bernstein, Frances Fenimore, Bill Gintzel, Marilyn Harrison, Irma Penn and Hank Rector.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a performance by Actor’s Choice. Meet the performers at a reception following the performance. Refreshments will be served.

Reservations are not necessary. For more information please call the Leawood Cultural Arts office at (913) 663-9157.
