Emerald Ash Borer Educational Seminar - Wed, Nov. 18, 6:30pm

The City of Leawood Park & Recreation Department is hosting a free educational program about Emerald Ash Borer Management for Home Associations on Wednesday, November 18th at 6:30 pm at the Lodge at Ironwoods Park, 14701 Mission Road.
The purpose of the program will be to provide recommendations for an EAB management plan, share how the city manages the ash trees on public property, learn what other HOAs are doing, and discuss opportunities to help one another.
This event is open to ALL and FREE to attend!

Brian Anderson, Superintendent of Parks
Brian has been the Superintendent of Parks for the past 18 years and is a Certified Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture for 17 years. He is also a certified arborist and past president of the Kansas Arborist Association. Brian holds the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification from ISA. He is also a member of the Society of Municipal Arborists and holds a B.S. in Park and Natural Resource Management from Kansas State University. Brian has attended numerous EAB presentations given by entomologists and foresters dealing with the EAB problem from states such as Illinois, Maryland, Michigan and Ohio.
Dustin Branick, Horticulture and Forestry Supervisor
Dustin has been the Horticulture and Forestry Supervisor for the past 6 years and has been a Certified Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture for the past 8 years. He is also a certified arborist of the Kansas Arborist Association. Dustin holds the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification from ISA. Prior to coming to Leawood, Dustin worked in the tree care industry as a consulting arborist and plant health care technician. His a graduate of the Municipal Forestry Institute from the Society of Municipal Arborists and holds a B.S. in Life Science from Kansas State University.
