The Leawood Arts Council presents
“Ballet at Ironwoods Park” by Kansas City Ballet II
The Leawood Arts Council is collaborating with the Kansas City Ballet to present “Ballet at Ironwoods Park”. This event will be both educational and entertaining. The lecture demonstration and performance by KCB II will take place inside the Lodge at Ironwoods Park at 14701 Mission Road, Leawood, KS 66224. The performance will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 3rd.
KCB II is a program of Kansas City Ballet’s School, which is Kansas City Ballet’s Second Company. This emerging professionals program gives extraordinarily talented young dancers a professional company experience as prelude to their joining a professional company.
KCB II performs throughout the region through public performances, lecture demonstrations, residencies and workshops, enabling the community to experience live dance in a public setting. The Trainees of Kansas City Ballet School also perform with KCB II.
Dancers will demonstrate while a professional from the Kansas City Ballet describes how it relates to performance. The KCB II Company will also feature some of their repertoire. The event will be appreciated by those that love the art of ballet or children just becoming interested in dance.
Audience members of all ages should be enlightened and delighted by the evening with KCB II. The event is scheduled to last approximately one hour and is free to the public.
Reservations are not required; seating inside the Lodge is limited to the first 300 guests. The event will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. (no cameras or camcorders please).
