LEAWOOD ARTS COUNCIL CONCERT SERIES FEATURES
HEAT INDEX

The Leawood Arts Council will host a Concert Series each Sunday evening, August 13th through September 3rd. All concerts are free and begin at 6:00 pm.

The Arts Council is thrilled to welcome Heat Index back this year for the final concert in the Sundays in the Park Concert Series for 2017. Heat Index is a horn driven, contemporary jazz group, with a strong Latin Jazz influence. The band combines fresh original music with extraordinary fusion remakes for a broad audience appeal.

Since 2001, Heat Index has been seen around Kansas City and across the country. These seasoned veteran musicians have performed with some of the biggest names in contemporary music from the last four decades.

The band consists of Frank Goddard, co-founder and bass player, Jesus Fernandez on keyboards, Ethan Ridings on guitar, Karita Carter on trombone and Mike Warren on drums.

Come sway or dance to the funky sounds of Heat Index. Fans will be delighted to see the group perform again in Ironwoods Park for this free concert.

The concerts will be held at the Ironwoods Amphitheater in Ironwoods Park at 14701 Mission Road. In the event of rain or severe heat, the concert will move into the Lodge at Ironwoods Park.

Please join the Leawood Arts Council for our free Sundays in the Park Concert Series. Some seating is available however, we recommend bringing a blanket and/or lawn chairs. Picnics are welcomed but alcohol is not allowed within the park.

For more information please call the Leawood Cultural Arts Coordinator at (913) 663-9157.
